- formal : scheduled meetings,  formal documents

- informal : discuss via phone call, verbal agreement

- negotiated : agreement between you and the client before anything is formals written down 

- contractual : you have to do it as its in your employee contract 

- tender : client publishes an advert for media products to be produced 

- commissioned : hires a separate independent company to create product 


similarities - you have to communicate with the client, working relationship between the clients and producer, tender and commission have to reach out to new people and network. 

differences - tender only contract were they can accept the brief before interacting, informal and formal less professional.

Constraints - limitations (costs, legal, ethical, time)

Open - freedom of ideas/ decisions

Explicit - clearly stated and must be met 

Implicit - implied/ suggestions










one requirement: mobile phone/ tablet accessible , app will be divided into different rooms, lock or unlock function, deadline end of April.

one implicit interpretation: intends it will be stored in the cloud

one constraint: large age group,  data protection act - GDPR, 


SWOT analysis 












Strength - two large demographics, gender-nutral, wid range of customers.

Weakness - large demographic, teens and 40 year olds will want different things.

Opportunities - brand can expand, designer gains experience.

Threats - deadline will be two weeks after the design idea, competitive market.
