Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 -  exists to protect peoples' creations such as a picture, drawing or photograph, a video, television programme or film, text, such as a book, article or report, a game. Copyright gives the copyright holder exclusive rights to publish, copy, distribute and sell their creation. No one else can use the work without permission. Why is it important? it keeps peoples creative property safe, it keeps people from profiting off  others work, It makes sure the creator of the product is rightly credited and paid for there work.
